Zumaya's Mexican Cafe

Hello! I decided this was blog worthy because I just had a really great experience today at Zumaya's Mexican Cafe in Uptown Whittier. I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking with the Owner, Emily Diaz and she told me a little bit about the history of Zumaya's. They have been in Whittier since 1994, but in the spot they're currently in now since 1997. They are known for their mole and handmade tortillas. Everything is made fresh from scratch and you can truly taste it when you indulge in their food. A lot of the recipes have been passed down over the years but currently the owner's son, Miles Diaz is the new chef in town. Tweaking and improving the old family recipes to have a new feel. They also have a little outdoor patio that is also dog friendly, which you guys know I love! They have a great happy hour Monday through Sunday 3:00pm-6:30pm. Discounts on drinks and appetizers! I have a feeling i'll be visiting them at Zumaya's a lot more often!
My two favorites were the flautas and the quesadilla. OH MY WORD, this quesadilla was AH-MAY-ZING. I could literally eat it everyday. The ingredients are just so creative and perfect together. It was bursting with flavor. I posted some photos and descriptions below.
